Hope House, Inc. is a residential treatment facility that serves women 18 years and older who suffer from the disease of substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders. Hope House serves three populations of women: homeless single women, pregnant women, and women with children, many who are seeking to regain custody of their children.

Race for Recovery

The staff and residents of Hope House, Inc. will participate in the second annual Race for Recovery at Pendleton King Park on September 11. This event is sponsored by the Augusta Coalition for Recovery. The event celebrates September as National Recovery Month with an emphasis on healthy activity.  The competition and event is open to the general public. Runners should arrive by 7 a.m.  Food and drink will be available for purchase at the park.

Annual Meeting

The Annual Meeting for Hope House, Inc. was held July 20,2010. At that time the Annual Report, "A Roadmap to the Future," was presented.

Set in Stone Exhibit at Earth Fare

If you miss our downtown opening June 4th, you can still catch our ceramic tile exhibit at Earth Fare! These are totally hand-crafted tiles by the talented women of Hope House.

Mustang Club Dinner

The CSRA Mustang Club will hold its June meeting at Hope House. Members will assemble at 6 p.m. for a business/dinner meeting. Hope House will be providing a program.

Set in Stone Exhibit Opening

Set in Stone, a ceramic tile exhibit funded through the Greater Augusta Arts Council with a grant from the Grassroots Arts Program, will open at the Metro Spirit's downtown office gallery during the June First Friday event.

Hope House Graduation

6 P.M. On May 6th, Hope House will hold its first graduation at our new facility. Ten women will receive certificates for the completion of their programs. Congratulations all!

Caring Candles Party

On April 28th Caring Candles, a mission of United Wesley Methodist Church, will hold its monthly party for the children of Hope House.

Taking Care of Business & Industry Expo

From 10 AM until 2 PM on April 20th Hope House will participate in the Taking Care of Business & Industry Expo.

Drum Circle

Not Gaddy presents his Drum Circle at Hope House, Inc. in two performaces: one at 2 p.m. for the children of Hope House and one at 4 p.m. for the women. This is an encore performance and is presented with the funding provided by the Greater Augusta Arts Council and the Grassroots Arts Program.

Health Fair

First Friday

First Friday is Augusta’s monthly celebration of the arts and for the first time, the families of Hope House participated by producing ceramic holiday ornaments that were given in exchange for donations during the December 4th event. The ornaments were made under the guidance of Rosemary Forrest, a local ceramic artist and the Americorp VISTA with Hope House. A limited number of ornaments remain and are available for a donation of $5 each.

Celebrating Life in Recovery

September is National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month. It's a time to recognize the contributions of treatment providers and to promote the message that recovery from all forms of substance abuse is possible. Guest speakers have been invited to share their journeys of recovery with the residents and their families.

Walkathon and Disc Golf Tournament

September 12, 8am Nine local agencies are hosting Race for Recovery on September 12 as a way to celebrate September, National Recovery Month. Recovery from alcohol and drugs is possible. Race for Recovery includes a 5K walk/run starting at 8 AM and a disc golf tournament to follow at Pendelton King Park. Other festivities include booths for each of the participating organizations, a barbecue lunch, inflatables for children, as well as prizes. Senator Ed Tarver will be a guest speaker. Jerry Carrier Memorial Concert

May 17th, 6:30pm The Augusta Children's Chorale Society will be joining voices with the adult choirs of Aldersgate UMC and Wesley UMC, with Augusta's own Allison Jones as the guest soloist. Performance will be at Aldersgate, 3185 Wheeler Road, 30909. There is no admission cost. An offering of hope will be collected at the performance to benefit the children of Hope House. May, 2009 Throughout the month of May, Earth Fare will donate 5 cents for every reused bag. Simply bring in your own bag or box and you'll automatically give! It couldn't be easier. Be sure to spread the word!

Smiles for Hope

March 2 - June 30 Brighten your smile while brightening the lives of children! Each year, Dr. Andrew Allgood's office participates in a whitening charity program. Professional-quality teeth whitenings are offered at special rates and the proceeds are donated to children's charities. This year's proceeds are being donated to the Therapeutic Child Care program at Hope House. For every teeth whitening Hope House will receive $200. Your cost for a take-home kit is $200 and an in-office whitening is $400.
